If connecting to a VCR, do not change the existing connection between the VCR and TV. Select VCR for TV/VCR setting of the VCR. Select the appropriate video input on the TV.

Plug the power cable into the Xbox console, and then fully insert the plug into the power outlet. Turn on the Xbox console by pressing the power button. The status indicator light with light up. The first time you turn on your Xbox video game system, set the default language and the clock before playing a game or audio CD. Once these settings are specified, you don’t have to set them again if you leave the Xbox console connected to power. To move the selection focus on the screen, press the directional pad of the Xbox Controller. To select, press A. To cancel, press B.

Xbox 360

1.   Place your console wherever you want. Make sure it is close to your TV, so the cables don't stretch. Take the INPUT end of the AV cable, and place it in the AUDIO VIDEO INPUT/OUTPUT slot on the back of the console. Take the other end and place each part in the appropriate colour-coded jack on the back of your TV.

2.   Take the Power Cable, and place the correct end in the AC INPUT on the back of the console. Plug the controller into SLOT 1 on the front of the console. Press the EJECT button. This will both turn on the console, and open the disc tray. Put the appropriate disc onto the disc tray, and press EJECT again.

3. Now play your games!

PSONE

1.   Place it next to the TV you would like to use. Get hold of the three-way wire (red, white, yellow) and place the black side into the console. Colour coordinate the colours so that the red wire goes in the red slot in the back or side of the TV (do the same with the white and the yellow). Get the plug and put it into the wall.

2.   Get the controller and plug that into the player 1 slot. Then get the Memory Card and put that into the slot atop of the player 1 slot. Turn on the TV and switch it to AV. Place a disc onto the spindle. Shut the case and turn the game on.

PS2

1.   Take the PS2 console, and gather up all of the cords. Plug in both parts of the AC adapter. When they're put together, plug it in! If you can't, get an extension cord. Plug in the other cord to the other part of the cord into the PS2. (Please Note: I no longer own a PS2-- I found these images on the Internet).

2.   Find the cord with the red, yellow, and white pegs, and plug the red, yellow, and white cords into the TV (or just yellow and white,) and install the long black peg into the back of the PS2. If you have a memory card, you can put it in the face of the PS2, just above the controller plugs. Most of them are 8 megabytes, but some are 16. If you have multiple games, it helps to buy the 16 MB card. If you have two, that's okay!

3.   Install the controllers. If there are two, install both of them. If not, plug in the sole controller. Turn the button on, and you should see a green light. If you have an older PS2, turn the back control button to I, then you should see a red light. Press the red button, and it should turn green.

4.   Enjoy your game

Nintendo Wii

1.   Check what kinds of connectors your TV supports. Almost all TVs will support the RCA (three-pronged) connectors. These are typically coloured Red, White, and Yellow. Newer TVs may also support component (five-pronged) connectors. These are coloured Red, White, Yellow, Blue, and Green. If you are using the vertical stand, first make sure that the stand is assembled by taking the vertical stand and the round piece of plastic and sliding them together until they click.

2.   Check what cable your Wii has as Wiis come packaged with an RCA cable. If your TV supports it, component cables will provide a clearer picture and allow for widescreen. Plug the Wii into the TV then plug the video cable into the back of the Wii and match the coloured prongs with their matching ports on the TV. Make note of what input you are connecting to. Hook up the Sensor Bar then plug the cable for the sensor bar into the back of the Wii. Place the sensor bar either on top or below your TV, preferably as centred as possible. The Sensor Bar allows the Wii to detect the Wii Remote when it is pointed at the screen.

3.   Plug the Wii power cable in. The cable plugs into the back of the Wii, and into any wall socket or power strip. Turn on the Wii and switch the TV to the input that you plugged the Wii into. You should see the Wii start up screen on the TV. If you don’t, check that you have the cables connected to the correct ports on the TV. Adjust your display settings. This step is for users who connected using component cables. Use your Wii Remote to open the Wii menu. Select Wii Settings to open the list of Settings options. Select Screen and then select TV Resolution. Select EDTV or HDTV (480p) and then click Confirm. Connect your Wii to the internet. To get the most out of your Wii, you’ll want to connect it to the internet. This will allow you to download games from the eShop, watch movies on Netflix and Hulu (with subscription), and play games online.

4.   You are now ready to play on the Nintendo Wii

Nintendo Wii U

1.)  Put the Wii U Console close to your TV. Put it near a TV somewhere near your bedroom so you can play without the TV just on the GamePad when desired. Put the stands on the bottom if you wish to stand it up. Get the Wii U AC adapter (power cord) and plug it into the relevant slot in the back of the console.  Plug the other end into a powerboard. Plug the HDMI cord into the HDMI slot in your TV, and Wii U. You can use component cables if you have and older, standard definition TV.

2.)  Plug in the Wii Remote Sensor Bar into the red plug in the back of your Wii U.  Place it either directly on top, dead in the middle on top of your TV or directly below it, dead in the middle.  Wii Remotes are very touchy and sensitive and it will make it worse if you don't set up your Sensor Bar perfectly. Grab your GamePad and Wii Remotes.  Place AA batteries in your Wii Remotes and plug your Wii U GamePad charger into a powerboard and plug it into the top of the GamePad. Double check everything is set up correctly, all safety instructions have been read and then power on the console.

3.)  Find the right input on your TV (HDMI or component) then press the power button on your Wii U.  Next, press the power button on your GamePad. Open the little compartment on the front of the Wii U and press the red sync button.  Then press the red sync button on the GamePad. Press the symbols on the GamePad in the order they appear on screen.  Then select your language that you want to use on the console. Click the country you live in.  Then select the date and time that it is currently.

4.)  Your display has automatically been set by the console.  Press X to change if it did not set up properly.  This step is optional:  You can use the GamePad as a TV remote for most modern TVs.  Select whether it is a direct TV remote or a cable TV remote.  Then follow on screen prompts. You will need to setup the sensor bar if you are using Wii Remotes. Complete the calibration steps shown on screen. Agree to health and safety and Terms of Use.  It is very important that you read these documents carefully. Select your internet connection, enter the security key, and wait for it to test the connection.  If you do have an internet connection, use it.  You can also buy Ethernet adapters sold separately if necessary. Update the Wii U.  You should do this, as the loaded update when shipped to the store would not be the not recent update, so you should update. Add a new user.  If you do not have a Nintendo Network account, press the "Add New User" option, otherwise click the button below that.

5.)  Create a Mii character. You can create a Mii either from parts you pick or from your photo.  Go nuts with this step!  You can also import from your 3DS or Wii. If you haven't already, set up a Nintendo Network ID by following steps on screen.  You need this to access the shop, online multiplayer and other features. If you are setting up your child's Wii U, set up some parental controls.  You can set up different ones for each child.  For example, John, who is 12/13 years old, will be able to play games with a moderate content rating or lower, and Fred, who is 15/16 may be able to play games that are strong in impact, but not adult only games. Enjoy your Wii U!

Sega Dreamcast

1.   Plug the RF cable into your game system. Attach the other end of the RF to your television cable port. If you are currently using this port for you Antenna, Cable or Satellite TV, and you only have one port (unlike the diagram). Unscrew the cord, screw in the RF box, and then screw the TV Cord to the port supplied on the RF box. This way your TV source will continue to work when the game system is off.

2.   Change the CH3-CH4 switch (Which is located on the RF box) to desired channel. Plug the Power Supply into the game system. Plug in a game; turn on the game system on. Doing this first will help in finding the right TV settings, when you see the game, you got it right! Turn the TV to the channel you picked on the RF BOX. If you have a newer model TV, you probably have several INPUTS SOURCES available from COMPONENT, VIDEO 1 2 & 3 and so on. If this is the case you will most likely need to change it to AIR, which you may also have more than one option. To change to these different video signal options, you usually have a INPUT or SOURCE button on your remote or television.
